Proud Advocate for Justice and Mesothelioma Research

"An advocate is 'one who pleads the cause of another.' As lawyers, we have fought for our client’s rights to compensation. But you know as well as I do that our client’s first priority is LIFE. They want to live. They want to watch their grandchildren graduate. They want hope. I have never met a client who said he would gladly trade his lungs for a million dollars or even a trillion dollars."  Roger G. Worthington

One-on-One Responsive, individual attention to your medical and legal needs. Your phone calls and e-mails will be returned promptly and professionally. We will tailor our representation to fit your medical and legal needs.  We will file your case individually or with other patients who have mesothelioma.  We do not bundle our clients' claims with non-malignant disease claims.  We represent mesothelioma and lung cancer patients only.  We have recovered over $1.2 billion dollars for our clients since 1991.

In the
Courtroom
Outstanding recoveries for our clients in select venues.  You need an advocate who will not be deterred by the rash of recent bankruptcies.

We will make every effort to file your case in the most favorable courthouse, depending on the facts and applicable law. Time is of the essence. Yes, many asbestos companies have filed Chapter 11.  But, we are finding "new" defendants who supplied and manufactured asbestos products.  Also, we have increased the pressure on the remaining defendants to settle at levels that are higher than their "historical" values. We will make every reasonable effort to set your case for trial as soon as possible.

There is no attorney's fee unless we collect. We advance all costs and expenses necessary to prosecute the lawsuit and obtain settlements.

Nationwide Clients in 48 states, networked by phone and e-mail for support and guidance. We have a nationwide database of job sites, (chemical plants, shipyards, navy vessels, etc) including the asbestos products used on these job sites.  We can associate with counsel who can file your legal claims in the best forum available. We have won cases in many states, including California, Texas and New York. Roger Worthington is licensed to practice in California and Texas, Ann Worthington is licensed in Oregon and Texas, and John Caron is licensed in California.

Protecting Rights, Building Hope.

Roger Worthington thanking U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (Illinois) for delivering a moving keynote speech at the 2006 MARF conference in Chicago, flanked by meso survivor and client John McNamara. Worthington founded MARF in 1999, at a time when many of his lawyer colleagues refused to support the non-partisan effort to fund research for a cure.

Funding Research

To date The Law Office of Roger G. Worthington
has contributed more than $2,590,000 to cancer research and science since 2000

Pacific Heart, Lung & Blood Institute
The Pacific Heart, Lung, & Blood Institute (PHLBI) is a non-profit medical research organization whose mission is to improve the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of heart, lung, and blood diseases through independent research, collaboration, and education. The Institute has been designated as an IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.

The centerpiece of PHLBI is The David "Punch" Worthington Research Laboratory which is located at the The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.  The lab was started through a generous donation from Roger G. Worthington, a founding director of PHLBI.  The lab is dedicated to Mr. Worthington’s father, Punch Worthington, who has survived a bout with asbestos-related cancer due in large part to the skillful treatment of Dr. Robert Cameron.

Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation

Other lawyers pay lip service to their compassion. Roger Worthington talks the talk and walks the walk. He founded and has donated over $925,000 in cash and hundreds of hours to MARF, a non-profit organization which aims to eradicate mesothelioma as a life-ending disease, and which has already funded four research grants at $100,000 each, and is now working with UCLA building a worldwide clinical database for mesothelioma patients.

Don't Sit Back...Attack

Since 1995, The Law Offices of Roger G. Worthington, P.C., in conjunction with it's Labor Union friends, has sponsored an amateur bike racing team.

The team consists of hard working, savvy and a little crazy Masters racers and competes in major pro-am races on the West Coast. The name of the team is  'Labor Power'.  Since 1995, Team Labor power has piled up impressive victories across the country, including California, Oregon, Washington, Texas, Nevada, Utah, Alabama and even in Canada.  The team has performed well at the national championship track and road events. More important than winning races is the message Team Labor has been sending to the public:

"Go for the Gold and Give Something Back!"
